Marbles Media was founded in the Fall of 1999. Shon and Shelly Stafford were working for large media companies in New York City when they decided to start a business and move back to their hometown of Atlanta. The early years during the first Internet boom were heady times, full of promise. There have been some ups and downs in the website development business since then, but we have held on and changed with the industry.

Whereas we used to build custom content management systems for clients, now it makes sense in most cases to customize WordPress for the situation.

However, WordPress is not the right choice for every case. We still develop custom e-commerce solutions for some clients.
 

Our Team

Shon Stafford

Shon Stafford first started creating websites in the mid-1990s. He started as a Web Editor at CNN in 1996 before moving to New York City and working for Time Inc. on the websites for Time, Fortune, Entertainment Weekly, Dr. Ruth, Ask Dr. Weil, and some others.

Since then he has created custom shopping cart systems, integrated websites with custom POS systems, built custom content management systems, created custom WordPress themes and plugins and written code in PHP, JavaScript (DOM), JQuery, AngularJS, HTML, CSS, etc.

Shelly Stafford

Shelly started working on websites at CNN.com in 1996. She then moved to New York to work at People.com. After a few months, she was offered a job at Comedy Central where she managed and updated the websites for South Park, Win Ben Stein’s Money, The Daily Show and several others.

She moved with Shon back to Atlanta near the end of 1999 to start Marbles Media. She continues to update and manage content for websites while juggling family-related demands.
